GEOFF DENSEM Managing Director
Geoff is the founder and Managing Director of Advanced Personnel Services Ltd and is based at the companys Head Office located at 829 Colombo Street in Christchurch. Geoffs association with the personnel industry goes back to the mid 1980s when he started the industrial temp division for Key Personnel, before forming his own company in 1987. Almost 2 & 1/2 decades on and he remains the navigator behind the company that employs more than 30 permanent staff and 600 temporary / on-hire personnel weekly.
Geoff considers the companys strategic size being of major advantage in our New Zealand market; versatile enough where we can make a decision in a second and yet reputable and big enough to provide confidence and security to our candidates and clients. Recruitment in todays market is for us about aligning ourselves with our clients and candidates more than ever before. With so many options around it is about adapting to change and remaining at the cutting edge in terms of efficiencies, respect and offering a service second to none.
In his spare time Geoff is involved with his family and Motorsport.
PAULA DENSEM Director / Board Member
Paula is based at the Companys North Shore office having moved there from Christchurch in June 2009. She is responsible for overseeing the overall administration function within the company including Debtor Management, Credit Reviews and Human Resources.
After completing her secondary education at Avonside Girls High school she commenced employment within the clerical field at Olympia Business Machines Ltd. Her next position was with Turners Ltd in a sole charge administrative/clerical capacity then with Whitcoulls Ltd until she took time out to raise a family. Her career resumed with Advanced Personnel in 1995. Paulas philosophy is based on the principle of do it right the first time every time in order to build long term healthy positive relationships with our clients. She is passionate about the recruitment industry and lives by the quote "find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life".
Paula's hobbies and interests include travelling, league, rugby, soccer, netball, car racing, music and socialising.
MARTZ WITTY Board Member
Martz is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant who maintains a current vibrant consultancy practice. Martz has personally owned some 13 businesses to date and so knows first-hand the ins and outs of operating a leading-edge business and the importance that Governance has in business. He prides himself on focusing on business development rather than solely being a number cruncher and constantly maintains a global and holistic view to business, from the top down and including every facet. He believes being successful in business is about obtaining solutions that are perhaps outside the square and by maintaining an eye for the common sense approach as well. Martz brings a very different flair and skill set to the Board which will ensure it continues to grow and develop in the ensuing years. As an independent director Martzs viewpoint is usually gleaned from a wide myriad of businesses and approaches rather than from solely the recruitment industry and this keeps Board discussions lively and relevant.
RYAN DENSEM National Operations Manager
Ryan Densem is the National Operations Manager for Advanced Personnel. In the role he is responsible or driving growth and profitability across New Zealand to reflect the companys vision of "becoming New Zealand's largest household recruitment name locally owned by December 2014".
On leaving school, Ryan elected to follow a sales career and joined a company in the health and fitness industry. Later he refocused to the security sector and completed his training at the National College of Security, gaining the National Dog Handlers certificate and the New South Wales licence for Bodyguard and Crowd Control. He worked in security for two years before joining Advanced Personnel in June 2001. In 2003 he relocated to the beautiful city of Invercargill for 18 months for Advanced Personnels first expansion and start-up operation of Southland. In June 2008 just prior the recession Ryan relocated to the City of Sails and started their first Auckland branch. In less than 2 years the team grew from one to eight permanent staff with his North Shore Branch Manager winning 'Branch Manager of the year' 2009. He has worked with project teams delivering service from single executive appointments through to contracts of in excess of 350 temporary/ on-hire personal on one site.
He is self described opportunist believing in time being our most precious resource. His witty character builds strong relationships with clients and suppliers for the long term benefits of all involved. In his leisure time Ryan enjoys football, martial arts, motorsport and spending time with his pure bred Clydesdale.
ED HEALD Christchurch Branch Manager
Ed has over 20 years experience in the Engineering industry. He trained as a Plastics Engineer dealing with product manufacture, processing and tooling before moving into tool and product design.
MARK LEE Invercargill Branch Manager
Mark joined our Invercargill branch in April 2005. He joined Advanced Personnel from a specialised recruitment role and deals mainly with Permanent Recruitment. He has a long association within the engineering sector having completed an apprenticeship in Fitting / Welding before moving into engineering drafting. He has worked both in Invercargill and on various projects overseas.
TATE ULSAKER Nelson Branch Manager
Tate's consulting experience spans 15 years having owned and operated his own market research company of 24 staff in Moscow, Russia. Tate has developed contractual relationships with over 350 recognized multinational companies, enjoying an 80% reorder rate.
BRENDAN MULLER North Shore Branch Manager
Upon finishing school in South Africa, Brendan spent 2 years in the military becoming a bombardier. He has 20 years sales and management experience, including running two businesses - one a project management company, the other a water bottling company (manufacturing, marketing, advertising & sales). Brendan joined Advanced Personnel Services in North Shore in mid 2008 during its inception and played a pivotal role in establishing a North Island presence. The North Shore branch went from comprising of a single recruiter to housing 6 specialist recruiters in 18 months. His out of work pastimes include supporting South Africa in rugby and socializing with family and good friends.
